Even at Asahidake Onsen Area, the leaves of the trees in the forest are turning yellow in the distance, and when you walk along the Asahidake Hiking Route, the color of the shrubs along the road, such as Acer tschonoskii, has changed by more than half. The arrival of autumn is still slower than usual.
There is a large wetland behind the Asahidake Ropeway’s base station, but it is rare for this time of year that there are still quite a few flowers along the wooden path around the wetland.
White flowers of the rapeseed, Cardamine scutata and ainuwasabi
Clinopodium micranthum var. sachalinense
Impatiens noli-tangere
The yellow flowers of Mimulus sessilifolius and its slender winter cherry-like fruits.
Since both the water temperature and the soil temperature are high around this wetland, it seems that there are still flowers this year when the temperature does not drop easily.
