The Asahidake Visitor center offers various information, such as real-time hiking information about the history and nature of Daisetsuzan National Park.

We offer special experience eco tours every year, which are conscious of the need to preserve resources, such as nature and culture in Higashikawa town and Daisetsuzan National Park.

The whole family can enjoy Asahidake Visitor Center and learn about the history and nature of Daisetsuzan National Park.

Lobby・Entrance

To provide a general assessment of the condition of a trail and help hikers make informed decisions, the Daisetsuzan National Park has established the Daisetsuzan Grade System, which assigns a grade of 1 to 5 to each trail section based on several criteria.

You can check the Daisetsuzan Grade and view point with a diorama on the robby.

Also you can get the latest information about ropeway operation status and mountain trail information on the panel which is placed on left side of diorama.


Reception / Information counter

The center staff will explain about nature and sightseeing information. Please contact our staff.


rest area

There are vending machines, books related to Daisetsuzan, tables and chairs for rest in the visitor center.

The table and chairs are made by local craft in Higashikawa town.


The Rooftop of Hokkaido : the Daisetsuzan National Park

We are exhibiting the generative processes of Daisetsuzan and Tokachidake moutain areas, the animals and plants that live there, and our efforts to protect the environment.


Flora and Fauna of the Daisetsuzan Mountain Range

There is an exhibition of animals and plants specimen that lives in the Daisetsuzan Mountain range, and the relationship between it and people, and information about which is the best time to see the flora and fauna.


The Relationship between the Daisetsuzan Mountain Range and People

We introduce the relationship between Daisetsuzan and people based on history, from the natives, Kamikawa Ainu to the present, the people of Higashikawa.


Eco-tourism / Nature exploration information

A map of the Daisetsuzan area is displayed on the wall.

You can check the departure and arrival points, and the latest information which is updated daily by the center staff. Please check them before hiking.

AR (Augmented Reality) Display 

Interactive display tablets are installed in front of the diorama and the space of flora and fauna exhibition.

You can see the navigation of mountain trails and get information on animals and plants.


VR (Virtual Reality) Goggles and monitor

 

You can take in information and content about Daisetsuzan national park visually like real world with VR goggles.

Other people can share the view of the person who wear VR goggles by monitor.

Souvenir Space

We are selling original products of Asahidake Visitor Center (made by Montbell)  that are sold only here.

We also have T-shirts and stickers designed with Daisetsuzan. Please check it out.

 

 

 

 

 


Free Wi-Fi 

There is a public wireless LAN (National Park Wi-Fi) that can be used with no charge.

To connect the Wi-Fi, you need to register your email address or SNS account.
