Mount Asahidake is still a Snow mountain even May to June.

A tourist from mediterranean country who had set out for the summit of Mt. Asahidake went missing and was later found dead On 1st May, 2026.

A severe weather forecast had been issued for that day, and the ropeway suspended operations at 4:20 p.m. due to strong winds. The ropeway remained suspended for most of the following day due to inclement weather. The police are currently investigating the cause of the accident and conducting an investigation.

A man’s body was found behind a rock near the fifth station on the way to the summit of Mt.Asahidake on 30th May, 2025.

Police report that he was carrying snowshoes and a stock.It is not known when he hiked the mountain.

The weather of Asahidake can be terrible changeable and you may lose where is the Sugatami(Upper) station and direction.

Many times early morning was clear visibility, however terrible strong winds blow suddenly in the afternoon, creating a dense fog.
