No matter where you are hiking, it is a minimum requirement to check the weather forecast, visibility, wind speed, temperature, climbing course, danger points, and your equipment before hiking.
In the vicinity of Asahidake, two men hiked the mountain, got lost, injured themselves, and called for rescue at different locations, despite the bad weather forecast for the past week.
In the first place, one has to doubt whether they were properly equipped and prepared to go to the mountains in this weather.

From July to August, casualties due to hypothermia and frostbite occur in Daisetsuzan National Park due to bad weather.
Low temperatures and strong rainfall can endanger lives no matter what hiking gears are used.
For an international traveler to continue with a long traverse plan in short sleeves and half pants in such poor visibility means that they are close to hypothermia or death.
Sometimes we are immensely disappointed when someone does not have waterproof, weatherproof, and water-repellent upper and lower rain gear.
Remember that even though the elevation is in the 2000m class, Hokkaido’s high latitude makes the weather environment similar to that of Honshu’s 3000m class.
Do not underestimate nature, look at the weather forecast and your equipments.
