Head-and-body length: 15 to 20 cm. Weight: around 100g.

It lives in the forest from the plains to the subalpine zone and eat the leaves, buds, seeds, ears and fruits of broad-leaved and coniferous trees.

It is nocturnal, with its legs spread out and gliding, moving from tree to tree. The eyes are large compared to the body.
