Corolla length 1 cm. Height 20-40 cm.
It grows naturally on moist gravel and grasslands in the alpine zone, forming a columnar array of flowers and opening a large number of pale purple flowers.
It is an endemic species of Daisetsuzan, which is designated as an endangered IB species on the Red List of the Ministry of the Environment.
